 | | Current Projects Dr. Alejandro Mauro has been working as leader project in the development of HIBA´s Personal Health Record System (PHRS) for the last two years, working with HMO patients and aplying UCD techniques for the design and evaluation of the PHRS. His research interests center around the design, development, usability evaluation, and implementation of computer-based health information systems. | | | | | Biography Dr. Alejandro Mauro grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After receiving his M.D. from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina (Facultad de Medicina - UBA), he has done one year of a Residency Program in Familiy Medicine at CEMIC, and he is currently finishing the Residency Program in Medical Informatics at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires (HIBA). He has had extensive postgraduate training in clinical information systems. He is member of several medical informatics organizations, including the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), the Internation Medical Informatics Association - Latino American Chapter (IMIA-LAC), the Argentinian Medical Informatics Association (AAIM), the Grupo de Informática Biomédica de Buenos Aires (GIBBA), and the HL7 Argentine Association. He has organized (as part of the Organizing Committee) the 3rd Latin American Medical Informatics Congress (INFOLAC 2008) in Buenos Aires Argentina.
